If you have filled in the send-pr correctly, you should get a reply. And
a new PR should be opened. You can see a list of open PR's here:

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr-summary.cgi

Eventually, a ports commiter, will let you know if your port has been
commited or not.
