I am trying to get a usb mouse working -- under 4.x I would do cd /dev ./MAKEDEV usm0 and it would work! Now it says that I don't have to, that it should already be there. But of course it isn't. So now what do I do? The fancy automatic system isn't working, or more likely I'm not using it correctly. Is there a good, long, thorough, technical discussion with examples of how to get new devices into /dev with devfs out there somewhere?
