I like Gnumeric for my desktop system, which is a lot faster, but I don't want to have all of the gnome stuff that comes with it. I just tried it and it brought an additional 38 packages with it. I do not need all of the functionality that comes with gnumeric. Just a nice compact, gui spreadsheet. I will try all ideas and suggestions. Thanks Robert
