If adding it to your rc.conf file doesn't work for you, try removing the wi0 stuff from rc.conf and execute the following as root: ifconfig wi0 ssid tmobile dhclient wi0 You'll need to make sure that the default gateway and nameservers are obtained from the DHCP server.
