Hello, I can make a bootable CD using GRUB + El Torito no-emulation mode. It's almost completely explained in the GRUB manual, section 3.4. I want to do more, I want to offer the user who boots from the CD Live or from a hard disk partition, it's a CD Live with XORP. So I built the following menu.lst file: default=0 timeout=10 title FreeBSD 6.1 root (hd0,0,a) kernel /boot/loader title CD Live XORP 1.3 root (hd1) kernel /boot/loader >From GRUB manual, the device syntax is like this: `(DEVICE[,PART-NUM][,BSD-SUBPART-LETTER])' `[]' means the parameter is optional. DEVICE should be either `fd' or `hd' followed by a digit, like `fd0'. Can I set CDROM device? I have added last line in device.map $ cat /boot/grub/device.map (fd0) /dev/fd0 (hd0) /dev/ad0 (hd1) /dev/acd0 Using this file I can boot " FreeBSD 6.1", but not " CD Live XORP 1.3". However when I try set CDROM on grub: grub> root (hd1) Error 21: Selected disk does not exist So the question is: how can I create a GRUB configuration to boot CD Live XORP 1.3.? Thanks in advance, David ______________________________________________ LLama Gratis a cualquier PC del Mundo. Llamadas a fijos y móviles desde 1 céntimo por minuto. http://es.voice.yahoo.com
