Lots of EDI vendors offer UNIX versions of their software. There is no out of the box freeware that I'm aware of. If you have the basic ability to interface your data source to different file formats, then EDI isn't a whole lot more than another standard format. I've generated and read EDI files with Perl-based tools for example. There is also an emerging Web EDI standard. -- Steve Sapovits steves06@comcast.net
