Hi ! I am using FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 as routing software. It works pretty well, with only one exception: Sometimes, once in two weeks or so, our router stops forwarding packets between ed0 and ed1 ethernet interfaces. Forwarding between ed0 and sl0 works normally. There are another symptoms. Ping shows only one response then gets frozen. Ping to hosts on ed1 returns negative respond time. Reboot gets frozen as well, all I can do, is to type sync and then use hard reset. The routing table seems not to be affected. Has anybody an idea, what happens in this case ? Perhaps more memory would change this behaviour. May be bad things on our ethernet play role as well. Here is part of configuration: Jan 16 08:42:44 router1 /386bsd: CPU: i486DX (486-class CPU) Id = 0x435 Origin = "GenuineIntel" Jan 16 08:42:44 router1 /386bsd: real memory = 3801088 (928 pages) Jan 16 08:42:44 router1 /386bsd: avail memory = 2969600 (725 pages) Jan 16 08:42:44 router1 /386bsd: using 41 buffers containing 339968 bytes of memory Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <st3096AT> Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: wd0: 85MB (174080 total sec), 1024 cyl, 10 head, 17 sec, bytes/sec 512 Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: ed0 at 0x280-0x29f irq 5 maddr 0xd8000 msize 16384 on isa Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: ed0: address 00:00:c0:3c:45:6c, type WD8013EPC (16 bit) Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: ed1 at 0x300-0x31f irq 3 maddr 0xd0000 msize 16384 on isa Jan 16 08:42:45 router1 /386bsd: ed1: address 00:00:c0:28:69:a7, type SMC8216T (16 bit) Thanks for any help Pavel
