You'll need to use 4.0, or a -current snapshot from after about >January 6th or 7th to get support for the card. I've tried the drivers on 4.0 CURRENT and the drivers do recognize the card, and mostly work, but I've received a whole bunch of errors from the card/driver. Basically, I had problems when it actually started writing the files to the disk. It fscks it all properly, but after a few writes of the files, I get errors like: ahc0:A:0 no active SCB for reconnecting target = issuing BUS DEVICE RESET SAVED_TCL == 0x0, ARG_1 == 0x26, SEQ_FLAGS == 0x40 ahc0: Bus Device Reset on A:0. 59 SCBs aborted (da0):ahc0:0:0:0): SCB 0x26 - timed out while idle, SEQADDR == 0xb (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): Queing a BDR SCB ahc0: WARNING no command for scb 38 (cmdcmplt) I'm guessing that it's a problem with the driver. The hardware seems to check out. Here's my system specs (relevant only): BIOS and System Info: Adaptec 29160 Bios v2.55.0 SCSI card on IRQ 10 VIDEO on IRQ 11 FreeBSD boot msg (parts deleted for space): -ahc0 irq 10 device 2 on pci3 -uhc0 aic 7892 Wide Channel A, SCSI ID = 7, 16/255 SCBs -fxp0 on IRQ 11 pci 1 -pci0 (vendor = 0x8086, dev = 0x2413) at 31.3 IRQ 9 -da0 at ach0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 -da0: : Fixed Direct Access SCSI-3 device -da0: 80.000 MB/s transfers (40.000 Mhz, offset 31, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled -da0: 17501MB (35843670 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 2231C) I would appreciate any help... I've already started swapping out my 29160 for a 2940, so it's not of dire importance, but it's always nice to know =:^). If anybody needs more info I'll be glad to supply it. BTW, I'm sorry if this is the wrong list to post to, but list/questions didn't have a clue.
