Considering the fight we had to protect wd from the Danish axes, I'd
say it's pretty deprecated already.  My understanding is that the only
reason wd is still there is for a fallback for configurations where
ata doesn't perform.  I don't see any reason to go to the trouble of
fixing the breakage.
