Yes, I have heard that you're polishing the handbook. What's the deadline for the new edition? Greg, I completely agree with your emphasis on accuracy. Incorrect doc is much worse than none at all. I'm eager for your input. I think I have to add some of the and markup myself before your review. Otherwise, you'd have to review the raw SGML. I hope to get that part of the markup done and touch up a few figures in the next day or two. That'd get you a review copy this weekend or Monday at the latest. How's that? Yes, I have heard that you're polishing the handbook. What's the deadline for the new edition?

Greg, I completely agree with your emphasis on accuracy. Incorrect doc is much worse than none at all. I'm eager for your input.

I think I have to add some of the <procedure> and <programlisting> markup myself before your review. Otherwise, you'd have to review the raw SGML.

I hope to get that part of the markup done and touch up a few figures in the next day or two. That'd get you a review copy this weekend or Monday at the latest. How's that?

The content is fairly well along, but I still have a lot of work to do
on the markup.
Nik, Chern, and I actually spent some time this afternoon looking
through the Disks chapter (now the "Storage" chapter) and one of the
things that became immediately apparent is the huge need for a section
on Vinum. Is there any way that you can post what you've got so that
we can help out with the markup and get this into the tree ASAP? I'm
sure you've heard that we're polishing up the handbook for publication
in the very near future.

I've seen a number of attempts at documenting Vinum. Some of them
were quite good, but they all had significant errors. If you bring
out a new one, please let me take a look at it first. I can't promise
to do it quickly, but it's very important not to release it until I
do. Incorrect docco never dies.
