In Samba 2.0.7 FAQ is stated that smbmount is _not_ a part of Samba.

You can find a very good implementation of smbmount at the following URL :
ftp://ftp.butya.kz/pub/smbfs/smbfs.tar.gz

It will soon be merged into the FreeBSD repository.
