I am attempting to use the following combination of commands.

     $ export DISPLAY=":0.0"
     $ xhost +local:
     $ boinc -allow_remote_gui_rpc &
     $ boincmgr

After the second command, I receive this error message:

xhost: unable to open display "0.0"

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, or if this will even work. I have 
FreeBSD 5.4 loaded.
