My mistake. It had indeed installed teh php5 port. But that port's default configuration aparantely did not build the Apache php5 module. I removed the php5 port, re-ran configure, and reinstalled it. Now I am strugling with configuring PHP, and the ampcahe port. I'll post that as a seperate question to the questions lsit.
