     *IF* his problems are the same as mine, he's getting big filesystem
corruptions.  After a few "crashes", he'll have to reinstall FreeBSD
(*if* his problems are the same as mine) , because bits and pieces of
the filesystem are being overwritten by garbage (basically, when the
disk driver writes data, instead of writing "X" blocks to disk, "X+Y"
blocks are being written).
