I'm trying to convert a bunch of old records (yes, records...) to CD, and have run into a problem (and part of it is memory---I can't remember the right commands from when my CD-RW was in my old Linux box). Objective: burn audio CDs under FreeBSD 4.1.1 in disk-at-once (DAO) mode to avoid that extra two-second pause between tracks (results in four seconds when there should be two, and two seconds when there should be none at all---this is definitely not a good thing!). Problem: I can't get cdrdao working. This morning, I'm having a bit of a brain fart, and can't even remember what I did before that got me part way, but I remember getting an error message about /dev/acd1c not being a valid device. Funny, burncd doesn't have any gripes about it not being valid.... Can anyone help me get this working? I know it's just a command line arg somewhere (or maybe a config setting that I should have adjusted instead of going with the unmodified port of cdrdao)...but finding that one missing arg is another matter. :-( Thanks, --jim -- 73 DE N5IAL (/4) | "Debating unix flavors in the context of anything jim@n5ial.gnt.net | Microsoft is like talking about which ice cream ICBM / Hurricane: | flavor tastes least like sawdust with turpentine 30.39735N 86.60439W | sauce." --(void) in alt.sysadmin.recovery To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
