Hi, I recently bought a 56K modem and am now having problems with the connection stalling during writes, for example, when writing a file via 'ftp'. My modem is a Boca Research 56K Tidalwave. Previously I used a Boca Research 28.8K Bocamodem without any problems. Note that downloads work fine and I get the full 56K throughput. It is upload that causes the stalling and eventual hang. I am able to reproduce the problem with two entirely separate connection endpoints (my system at work and my ISP connection), so I'm pretty sure the problem is my end. I have tried an uncompressed protocol negotiation on my modem and had the same results with that. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you get it resolved? My system is at 4.0-19990324-SNAP, and I am using kernel ppp (pppd version 2.3 patch level 5). My current modem settings are: at&v ACTIVE PROFILE: B1 E1 L0 M0 N1 Q0 T V1 W1 X4 Y0 &C1 &D2 &G0 &J0 &K3 &Q5 &R1 &S0 &T5 &X0 &Y0 S00:001 S01:000 S02:043 S03:013 S04:010 S05:008 S06:002 S07:255 S08:002 S09:006 S10:014 S11:050 S12:050 S18:000 S25:005 S26:001 S36:007 S37:000 S38:020 S46:138 S48:007 S95:000 Any hints or suggestions are welcome.
