Yes, I figured that out. But I didn't know there was an alternative to booting
with the "-c" option - as far as I know, the /boot/kernel.conf file isn't 
documented anywhere.

Yes, specially since I've been using Unix for quite sometime now. However,
it goes back to the question "Is FreeBSD ready for the desktop ?"
