It depends on the card. As someone already pointed out, this particular card has the modem as the first entry in the combo-card, but with other combo cards you might have the reverse experience. Spending a bunch of money for a dual-purpose card when you can only use one function (at this time) seems a bit silly, unless you are willing to write the code to do the multi-function thing.
