I'm using this combination on a live dialup billing implementation.

FreeBSD xxxx 3.1-STABLE FreeBSD 3.1-STABLE #3: Thu Mar 4 14:16:28 CST 1999
root@xxxx:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC  i386

NetApp Release 5.2.2: Sat Apr 17 04:15:20 PDT 1999

NFS v3, no stability problems.  PostgreSQL database, BTW.
