Well, the main modifications aren't related to RADIUS as much as
supporting extra security methods like ACE and Defender.

The Merit AAA server (on which the Ascend commercial RADIUS product is
based) has a much better way to handle these situations called AATVs.  You
want to add something special for "your" version of RADIUS ?  No problem.
Write an AATV that adheres to a specific API, and don't touch the mainline
source code.
