I built it myself tonight prior to commit and it still failed..see

Marking a port BROKEN is nothing to get worried or offended about --
it may save some poor soul from wondering about why it's not working
for him, and you can easily remove the tag when you commit the fix.  I
just happened to come across it while trawling through the bento logs,
and it was easy for me to add it.
