I have an hunch this is triggered by something in the order in which
ports/packages have been built/installed/updated (or not updated by poudrie=
re).

That could explain why some people are seeing this and others not with no
apparent relation to other system details.

It can be a pain to actually track down. I'm guessing but could be something
being used during the build that has changed.

I agree that adding LDFLAGS=3D-lm blindly to the official tree is not a good
idea. We need to understand why it is needed before doing that.
