Hi Perhaps this would be a good time to mention that I have a plan to nuke libmd in favour of the MD* and SH* routines in libcrypto. The libcrypto routines are a _lot_ faster than the libmd ones, and their use is more ubiquitous. For the folks who don't need/want full crypto, the plan is also to provide a "strip-down" option to libcrypto, in order to accomodate paranoid governments. This is ther first time I'm mentioning this in public, so please don't panic - I won't be doing anything until the right folks agree.
