With the latest driver you have to load nvidia.ko and nvidia-modeset.ko in order for X to work. You also have to really make sure that in your BIOS the graphics adapter "discrete" (or similar) is selected. And you might have to set the BusID in the xorg.conf. I cannot remember, if I had this set or not on the W530. Try without first. I think this was only necessary on Optimus-only systems to make sure the Intel is used= . Cheers, Stefan.
