I was able to solve it by copying the terminfo file for xterm from a debian linux box to ~/.terminfo/x/xterm. I tried the VT100.Translations approach, but that did not work for me. I think something broke on our end between 4.4 and 4.9, as I'm running the same mutt binary... Drew
