Dear "Behmr",
I probably haven't fully understood your problem; however, if you
provide some more information (OS version, hardware, messages, errors,
etc.), you put a few people in a position to actually help you.
During the installation process, you check a number of boxes
("distributions"); also, in one of the installation menus
(Configuration), you can select a number of packages, as well as
configuring a desktop (Configuring XFree86 Desktop).
Even if you decide to install no packages, you can easily do that
later, via pkg_add(1) and the ports(7) system.
