That wouldn't suprise me. Is there any way to convince mount_cd9660 to
deal with the header? I can make images available if that will help. (I
have a 10Mbps connection) 

mount_cd9660 has a '-s startsector' argument. Could that be used in some
way? I tried -s0 through -s3 and it didn't work.
