Sounds something like how 2.1 behaved, but in 2.2, everything that I 
create is mine, not root, a welcome sight.

kscd got problems.  I have opted to do away with kdemultimedia and get 
separate progs.  A subscriber put me on to xmcd, I think its great.

My setup doesn't have this behaviour also.
