I monitor -java, but I admit that with all the email I get, I only read messages with "thread", "libkse", or something like that in the subject line. You see why I picked up on this message :-) > Well are there any success stories with kse, libthr??? I have jdk1.4.2p4 working on one of my boxes (all running libkse) and it seems to be doing fine. I don't have jboss or many of the other java ports installed. The jdk seems to work fine for our home-grown applications. > In my system (jboss 3.0.3 on 5.1 p10 RELEASE and jdk1.4.2 p5) > i have upto now: > > SCHED_ULE in the kernel and libkse -> System panics!!!!! > (The rest is with SCHED_4BSD) There were some bugs fixed WRT SCHED_ULE. If you are not running up-to-date current or not in a position to do regular updates, you may want to stick with SCHED_4BSD. > libkse and jboss problem (i sent it the other day) > libthr and jboss clients problem (client silently dumps core) > libc_r and jboss quite ok (i guess!). > > libc_r and SUN ONE Studio 4.1 great There is a freebsd-threads mailing list. If you have problems with one of the threads libraries, you may want to post there especially if you have any relevent debug info. -- Dan Eischen
