I think that the answer provided below is a bit harsh.  I have installed
FreeBSD on a machine with both Windows NT/95 installed an have not had any
problems trashing the hard drive.

Firstly, a product like Partition Magic can easily create the necessary
partition for FreeBSD.  Yes your drive must have a partition for FreeBSD, and
Partition Magic is a good way to do it.

Secondly, the FreeBSD boot manager will allow you to dual boot FreeBSD and
Windows NT/95.

Read the related information an the FreeBSD web page under documentation and if
you have further questions, post them to this mailing list.  If you can get a
copy of The Complete FreeBSD all the information you need to do this install is
contained in it in an easy reading format.  This book is worth its' weight in
gold.
