I am not certain whether this is the right approach, but when I faced that error (with llvm), I did this : open up an additional terms (Alt + F2) In that terminal, run : ping pkg.freebsd.org Return to the F1 terminal and then run : pkg fetch llvm If that solves your problem, do let me know.
