I think the operative word here is 'can'. Even Microsoft Outlook *can* produce good output, but most people seem to have trouble with it without even noticing the fact. The longest line in this message is currently 72 characters (the one with in it). If you have Netscape Mail set the way you describe, when you reply it will wrap this line incorrectly.
