Well to my belief sendmail has improved on it's security it is not as vulnerable as it was before so it can still be used as a reliable MTA. I have recently changed one of my mail servers from sendmail to postfix and postfix has almost the same setup as sendmail so you wont really get lost when trying to configure it , and another thing with postfix is that it easier to configure and trouble shoot i guess ( i havent yet trouble shot it yet..but i have heard it is easier to trouble shoot) i still have a mail server running sendmail see i am abit sceptical when changing MTA's cause i have put in alot of effort in trying to understand sendmail..not that i have conquered it but , i know that when i install a distro ..i will have an MTA i am used to installed by default so ..i will start tweaking it as soon as possible. okie enough of my philosphy ..and for a webmail App horde/imp is not that bad ...but truthfully speaking i am not a big fan of it ..i currently run squirrelmail for webmail and it works fine for me ...!! but everyone has there own opinion on things .....so i guess the ball is in your court and for howtos ...i suggest you hit the sites of these Apps you shall get all the info you need on them and maybe join there mailing lists just to be on the safe side and get the pros and cons of the Apps
