Perl 5.8.0 has made it into the ports collection. The port is a bit rough and certainly needs some polishing. In particular: - the WITH_GDBM knob needs to be implemented (for 5.6.1 too); - the WITH_ITHREADS needs to be implemented; - some mechanism for peaceful coexistence of 5.6.1 and 5.8.0 needs to be devised. Please bear with me, and do not hesitate to send your comments, suggestions, and bug reports.
