I recently installed FreeBSD 4.4, and I can't seem to configure my CS4281 sound card. My kernel config file reads: device pcm device csa as per LINT, man pcm, and man csa. When I start up, I get this: pcm0: <Crystal Semiconductor CS4281> irq 5 at device 8.0 on pci0 pcm0: unable to allocate register space device_probe_and_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 I've tried changing "device pcm" to "device pcm0", same with csa. I tried leaving out csa, or pcm, neither worked. In fact, it doesn't seem like device csa does much at all, because I get the same error with just "device pcm". Anyway, it's a Toshiba laptop, and it's worked under Linux (Which will never grace my laptop again thanks to FreeBSD). Any help, hints, anything would be good. I can barely even find anything online mentioning CS4281 and FreeBSD, other than Japanese pages. Oh, and on an off-note, in Linux there was a /proc/pci, /proc/alsa, etc, which you could cat to get info on pci devices and whatnot. Anything like that in FreeBSD???
