Reason being, If the person encountered the error with the ./netscape-installer script then it implies that he is using the latest version of netscape downloaded from www.netscape.com itself. And this version of netscape was written primarily for linux and runs under linux emulation. The ports version of netscape is not at the latest version (the last I checked).
