When doing the following my machine totally hangs, and eventually 
reboots.  I don't have any crash dumps (i'm not sure how to make them).  
This happens two different machines, one SCSI, one ATAPI (the cdroms)

find . -print | xargs grep -il pattern

This command works fine on a ufs filesystem.
