(I knew I shouldn't have overloaded 'quirks')  What I meant was that I
thought the device was broken as designed.  Ie: it wasn't possible to have
it probe correctly unless there was a media unit in the drive.  I mean,
the thing is an ESDI disk using a converter.  I didn't expect it to have
much of a brain.
