I'm the jerk who suggested capitalizing language names, so it's my fault
for not correctly spec'ing my request. In this case I agree with
Sunpoet, and suggest to make it perfectly clear that it be changed to
'perl -v'

CosmeticChanges++ :)

Given that he's doing noble, and thankless work can we focus on that? If
any maintainer has a specific objection to a change that's made, let's
handle it that way (IMO).
