The card generally works fine, but there's a thing with the FM tuner that disturbs me: I have installed xmradio (/usr/ports/audio/xmradio) in order to control the card's FM tuner. However, xmradio required that I have X running. Now, I would probably be able to change stations and volume simply from the shell. Indeed, there seems to be a port available that can do that. It's called fmio and lives in /usr/ports/audio/fmio. However, it doesn't seem to work. Even though I read the manpage, specified my particular card using the -d bktr option, it still would not work. So, does anyone have a BT8x8 based Hauppage or similar TV card with FM tuner which seems to successfully work with fmio? If so, I'd appreciate any hints that I may have forgotten to consider when trying to get my card up and running. If nobody supports success here, I may have a look at the xmradio sources and create my own command-line FM tuner control utility based on them. Even though I'm not a highly experienced programmer, I guess with the xmradio sources as a guide, that's something even I should be able to do within a few days, if not hours...
