I would go into the isdnd's source directory, compile a version of it with
symbols (-g flag) and run this version under gdb. When it terminates, you 
should then be able to find out why.

I suspect this behaviour is related to using 2.2 (or some local speciality
at your site), i'm running 0.71 under 3.0, 3.1 and 4.0 and i've never seen
isdnd disappearing.
