The problem is mostly that *nix mailers behave as they should, not how Outlook express does :) This means that by default the envelope from address is user@hostname. What I have done to get around this is to add a rewrite rule to my exim.conf file as follows : *@pan.domain.com ${lookup{$1}lsearch{/etc/mail/email-addresses}\ {$value}fail} bcfrF This goes in the rewrite section The contents of /etc/mail/email-addresses are quite simply waynep: wayne.pascoe@realtime.co.uk This means that all outgoing mail is re-written with a returnable envelope-from address. Hope that helps someone . -- - Wayne Pascoe E-mail: wayne.pascoe@realtime.co.uk Phone : +44 (0) 20 7544 4668 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
