in some ways, im glad to learn that im not the only one thinking that gnome-terminal uses up alot of resources on the system... too bad, i think it's a really good terminal, but i have to use another terminal in order to make my system run nicely. .f -----Original Message----- From: Mezz bsdforums.org [mailto:reigncracks@hotmail.com] Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 21:24 To: klammer@webonaut.com Cc: gnome@freebsd.org Subject: Re: vte 2.2.1 halt and lagging the CPU.. I don't have the problem with gnome-terminal that much, but it just sometime will use a lot of CPU and slow. I don't have to hit ^C or kill it, since Gnome 2.1.x. Until, mplayer-skins updated today and now is giving me the problem by freeze up, so I had to kill it. mplayer-skins have the 'dos gui' to select the options what you want to install. gnome-terminal/vte just finally happened to hate it. Can you try to go there and do the 'make' to see if it will kill your gnome-terminal? >only how gnome-terminal handles the scrollback i found very useful >and i miss it with the other terminals. You mean, scroll back to the top?
