IS > this true? And if so how would I go about upgrading In my opinion, it shouldn't be used when upgrading from XFree86-3 to XFree86-4. If you're doing this, you really need to remove /usr/X11R6 and rebuild all your X11-related ports. Using portupgrade to upgrade within Xfree86-4 (eg 4.1 -> 4.2) works fine.
