Should the "server version" string change after doing the upgrade?

The port contains the _2 part of the version:

===>   Registering installation for cvsup-without-gui-16.1h_2

But cvsupd doesn't:

# /usr/local/sbin/cvsupd -v
CVSup server
Copyright 1996-2003 John D. Polstra
Software version: SNAP_16_1h

Neither does the client when connecting to the server:

Server software version: SNAP_16_1h

Not complaining, just wanting to make sure I actually do have the fix.
