Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG hello, I have installed 3.0 version from scratch and when I was installing I set install program to install DES. and here the listing of libcrpt files in my /usr/lib directory finland:/usr/lib>ls -la libcrypt* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root wheel 13 Nov 18 19:06 libcrypt.a -> libdescrypt.a lrwxrwxrwx 1 root wheel 14 Nov 18 19:06 libcrypt.so -> libdescrypt.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root wheel 16 Nov 18 19:06 libcrypt.so.2 -> libdescrypt.so.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root wheel 15 Nov 18 19:06 libcrypt_p.a -> libdescrypt_p.a finland:/usr/lib> my problem is; I have put my old password file from my old FreeBSD 2.2.7 and it had DES passwords but the new accounts I open with adduser uses MD5 passwords and now I have a mixed password file with MD5 and DES password.
