It has earlier been specifically requested that the reference to acpi(9)
not be removed as a reminder that it needs writing.  That said, I'm
not sure what such a manpage would document exactly.  As for the second
part:

> grep -i acpi /sys/i386/conf/LAPTOP 
# ACPI support
device          acpica
#options        ACPI_DEBUG

It is most definitely still named 'device acpica'.  The kernel mode
is acpi.ko however, and it would probably make sense to fix
sys/conf/files and rename the device to 'acpi'.
