It means you need to fix your kernel file to be compatible with 5.0. In this instance, it's talking about things like: device foo0 which needs to be changed to: device foo. Compare with the GENERIC and NOTES files for changed config syntax. It might be easier to just start again from GENERIC and add back what you want.
