It appears as though the stepping "works" for the first step and not again. However, the first step shows a approx. 20% increase, I was expecting something closer to 12.5%. If you need any more information or have any other patches let me know. PS: Your patch is against 1.24 and a 1.25 was committed the other day. 1.25 was just an asthetic patch it seemed though. dmesg | grep -i cpu CPU: Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 2.00GHz (1994.13-MHz 686-class CPU) acpi_cpu0: on acpi0 acpi_cpu: throttling enabled, 8 steps (100% to 12.5%), currently 100.0% sysctl hw.acpi.cpu hw.acpi.cpu.max_speed: 8 hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 8 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_supported: C1/0 C2/50 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_lowest: 0 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_history: 601211/0 0/0 hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 8 -> 8 524288000 bytes transferred in 6.133932 secs (85473396 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 8 -> 7 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.394244 secs (70904882 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 7 -> 6 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.341826 secs (71411118 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 6 -> 5 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.416279 secs (70694212 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 5 -> 4 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.410810 secs (70746383 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 4 -> 3 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.357247 secs (71261438 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 3 -> 2 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.314707 secs (71675871 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 2 -> 1 524288000 bytes transferred in 7.435376 secs (70512641 bytes/sec) hw.acpi.cpu.current_speed: 1 -> 8 524288000 bytes transferred in 6.197817 secs (84592364 bytes/sec) -- Ryan "leadZERO" Sommers Gamer's Impact President ryans@gamersimpact.com ICQ: 1019590 AIM/MSN: leadZERO -= http://www.gamersimpact.com =-
