As important as direct experience in a subject matter is... finding the right candidate with the right attitude is most important. In particular look at what apps you will be using. Say you will be doing the Mysql+Apache+PHP... someone strong in those 3 and some other BSD/Linux and the right attitude.. may be a good fit. Try changing your add to "Unix system administrator" and then mention FreeBSD as a prefered Os... but make the skillset for your core programs a must. Good luck!
